The world's leading materials selection solution for public libraries

Our unique and powerful Selection Module has been designed to streamline the selection process, eliminate wasteful purchases and also bring automated, web-based performance management tools to library materials selection.

It can also be used to improve vendor standing order plans and lease plans.

Evidenced Based Selection Specification

collectionHQ allows you to create very detailed specifications at collection and branch level - in seconds.

Flexible

These specifications can be built up in very flexible ways to accommodate most buying profiles - i.e. buying for a specific branch or collection, buying for a number of branches or collections, ad-hoc purchases as well as across an entire system.

Powerful

You can customize reports to give various views of collection performance. In addition to showing Dewey ranges, you can also view the collection in terms of BISAC codes, which are used by bookstores or your own specific collection terms.

Integrated

collectionHQ now allows all of your specifications to be output electronically to your collection development team and your book supplier - reducing the effort of transcribing information.

What's working for everyone else?

When making selection decisions, it's useful to see what's circulating and being purchased (pre-publication) by public libraries elsewhere in US.

collectionHQ aggregates usage from all of our customers at a very granular level allowing you to learn what's working well in other library systems.

Holdings Records

Usefully, against all of these results you can see your holdings records. This means you can make selections such as - "show me things I don't own - within a specific range, that are circulating well in other regions" etc.

Receipt of materials

collectionHQ's powerful monitoring suite gives you a detailed breakdown of the materials you have received, order by order, and shows what genre (BISAC or your collection terms) or Dewey ranges they were in. This then allows you to see how the acquired materials compare with the targets you specified in the budget, order or contract.

Performance management

Importantly, we can now see how well our selected material has performed once it has entered the system. This is increasingly important when trying to drive more value from our book budgets and trying to eliminate waste.
